Essex X’Country U17/U20/SNR – Writtle Sat 6th January 2018

For the past two seasons Basildon’s senior women have been outstanding in cross country, their efforts were awarded when they came away with a gold medal at these championships.  This gold medal team was made up of Gemma Kersey (2nd), Emma Houchell (4) Rachael Wiseman (5th) and Charlotte Bishop (17th). total points of 28 to beat Chelmsford into second place who scored 35 and Victoria Park in third with 70 points.  The very strong turn out meant almost any permutation from our other runners Emma Ballard (41) and Louise Douglass (51) may have still medalled.

There was also outstanding performances from other athletes with top ten finishing places. U17 Women Abbey Rex & Beth Ashley. U20 men and women Harrison Smith and Leah McGill
